Hi All...

New to the site, first post, wish more was happening here but I guess every one is enjoying their RV.

So, here is my grip or am I missing something. New 2008 TM 40B and it has 4 LCD sets in it. Two of them are HD (Front and slide up). Even the Sat can do Hi-Def. HOWEVER, all the connections to these sets are via COMPOSITE. In fact, all the wiring in the RV is set for COMPOSITE and coax. Thus it can not even pass Hi-Def to the sets.

Am I missing something or did they really mess this up? Can't even rewire it because of the switch box used is also just composite.

Thoughts?

David

Hi David:
I had the same gripe. Fixing the setup required me to replace the LCDs (Jensens) to the Sony Bravida. I then had to remove the switch box and run HDMI and high def component wires to each set individually. I left the small 15" LCD behind the co-pilots chair off the theatre system.
Bedroom was the same story.
Outside LCD runs off the satellite, but not high def.

Went with Dish, have the DVR setup in the cab, and Hdef in the bedroom. The DVR will run 2 TVs, one in high def and one standard.

The setup stinks, but I think the culprit is the switch box. I found a HDMI switch box through Radio Shack. You have to change everything that does not have a HDMI port, in order to use the box. Either way it gets expensive.

Safe Travels

Hello Rick...

Thanks for the note. Yes, even call GS about it and was more or less told..."Humm, not really sure what you mean." AUGH!!! I then said I would need to do some rewiring and the girl replied it would void my warranty. Sure, all because they hooked it up wrong.

I was kind of shocked really. Not so much for the smaller sets, but for the larger ones. Not looking forward to figuring out how I am going to make this work. :) I am thinking HDMI with HDMI distribution block. Then at list it will run both audio and video over the HDMI. I think I am just going to get one DTV box and share it. My wife and I watch together anyway.

We will be flying out to Florida to pick up the 2008 Tour Master 40B with Pre-emissions M330. We fly in once and fell in love with it and we were looking at Revolution LE's. It just offered us more and at a better price we felt. We will pick it up and spend 4 days in Florida and then head back to cold upstate NY.

BTW...This is out first RV. Looking forward to getting used to 42' of turning.

David, You'll love the TM. Yes, the 42' does require a learning curve. Charlie
