Kodiak, Chasis break alarm

2005 chassis duramax diesel, engine break, all the bells and whistles.
Love the bells and whistles I really hate the allarm that goes off when at times I make a turn with the foot on the break, as in pulling into a driveway.

Has anyone else had this grief and where or how did you fix it, only gripe I have about the entire unit.

The Owner's Manual says that the alarm may come on when braking and turning at the same time. Both the brakes and the power steering run on the same pump system. This hasn't been a problem for my Kodiak, but I've got the 8.1L gas engine.

I did get into a situation where the brake system alarm would come on and not shut off. It turned out to be the brake switch on the brake pedal. Fortunately, it's only a $15 part. Others have reported this problem.

Thanks for the reply. Lots of other folks have this problem, and the correction ranges from that switch like you, to a system control module completely unrelated to the break system.
If the alarm was on and remaind on I coukd see a part, BUT I can control mine some what by a repeatable procedure: In a safe place, foot on the break cut the wheel to stop, foot on the break switch off the ignition release everything restart engine and wait a few min and alarm will either go off or the alarm will clear immediatly. STRANGE
The diesel I believe must differ from the 8.1. Diesel has a electrric motor break assist and air as well. This safety system activates if the engine dies you still have breaking, I would think with all these back-ups would negate a need for the alarm but I guess not.
Very little data in manual.

I didn't mean to imply that I thought my problem was the same as yours, I just offered it as another brake system alarm problem that has been known to occur. In my case, turning the engine off/on would not clear the alarm. It would only clear after the first 100 feet or so of rollout after starting up. I think the ABS system does a check during that rollout and resets the brake system alarm if all is well.
