Compartment latch

I am in nned of a side compartment latch for my 2001 GS Friendship,
The part number is 49L290 there is no GS dealer in California can any of you help with locating this latch?

When I first bought my Gulfstream coach I had at least two or three that broke. I got them directly from Gulfstream. I had them within a few days. If you slam the compartment doors the internal mechanism is made out of pot metal and it breaks. So now when I close the compartment doors I close them gently and then just give them a tap to make sure they are locked. Have not had any problems since I changed my method of closing the compartment doors.

If you don't have a dealer, the best way to get your latch is to call Gulfstream at 1-800 765-8787. They will ship it to you but will charge you some shipping and handling fees. I have found them to be fairly responsive.
