Getting ready for our first big trip with our new 2008 Gulfstream Independence 8367 later this week and have run into a couple problems. The first is a problem with either the turbo or actovator, which should be repaired this week.

Driving the motorhome today, another dash light came on. How do I figure out what the problem is? It is in the bottom right corner and looks like a side ways fleur de lise (New Orleans Saints football emblem).

The freightliner book on page 2.23 shows the sideways fleur de lis with a little thermometer symbol as meaning "High Exhaust System Termperature (Hest) Lamp. In the book this is described as:
"The High Exhaust System Temperature lamp alerts the operator of high exhaust temperature during the regen process when the speed is below 5 mph or during manual regen. The HEST lamp does not signify the need for any kind of vehicle or engine service; it only alerts the vehicle operator of high exhaust temperatures. Make sure the engine exhaust pipe outlet is not direct at any person, or at any surface or material that will melt, burn, or explode." Hope this helps

Woops, just noticed there is another sideways fleur de lis symbol with a bunch of dots. This is the Diesel Particulate Filter Status Lamp.
"A solid yellow Malfunction Indidcator Lamp indicates an engine fault that affects the emmissions. The MIL lamp applies to Mercedes Benz engines only.
Diesel particulate filter servicing must be performed by an authorized technician.

Thanks Kate, I believe it may be the first one, as it does not have the dots. Hoping the parts for the first problem arrive today, and the business does not believe there is a second problem. Hopefully we can be on the road starting tomorrow.

Turbo was replaced prior to leaving for Ottawa and worked fine all the way.

On the way home at our last stop, upon re-starting the engine, the wipers, electric driver seat and air would not work. Still cannot get them going, including the jack light. No slide outs last night.
