Tv thru Sony

How do I the front tv to work thru the Sony dvd. It has the wires hooked up to tv input but when you turn Sony on for TV nothing comes out of the speakers,bu still comes from the tv. Do you have to do a setup in the tv menu.

If it's set up like mine you have to switch the DVD player mode to be Video then the TV sound should come through the speakers
