My wipers quit last evening. I'm in the mountains of Idaho and not close to a dealer to get service. I'm not sure what operates them. When they worked properly, it sounded like they were expelling air when they returned to the center. I first thought it may be a fuse, but when I pushed them back to center by hand with the switch still on, they immediately went back and tried to operate again.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi...

From what I recall when mine did that, it was the wiper motor and something to do with the gear alignment. If you look inside the compartment and up you will see the motor to the right and the connections. You may care to check them to see if you can tell anything.

Sorry I can not guide you more. I had the motor replaced and that is what I was told to look for also.

Thanks David, I'll check it out. Where did you get your motor replaced? Was it a standard replacement at an RV facility or a truck garage?

It was an RV center. But I do think the motors are somewhat standard and could be found. Bit look for the linkage, as it could be something slipped off or is out of place.

I just replaced my wiper motor this week. Diesel Equipment is the Company that designed the system used by Gulf Stream in my Tour Master. I called them and gave the numbers that are on the motor and they sent me the complete drawings of the kit. I ordered a new motor from them $111.71 plus shipping and taxes. I found that is it best to connect motor without connecting wipers and run it and stop, then connect the wiper arms in the stop position. Three 10mm bolts for the mounting and one 1/2 in. nut for the drive. Warning, it is a tight place to work.

If you have the instructions, is their anything that sets the stop position? My motor seems to be stopping in different positions.

Do you still happen to have the numbers of the kit?

UPDATE...It seems that the drive nut was loose and in turn it allowed the motor to more or less bore out the center hole of the bracket that mounts to the motor drive. It should have little slits in it that meet up with the drive so when it gets tightened, it will lock on and this work.

So now I need to find the bracket that connects to the push pull arms of the wipes and the motor. AUGH!!!!!!

Dave I don't have instructions for the wipers but what they did send was a schematic of the wiper system which identifies all of the parts to the kit. When I contacted Diesel Equipment she asked me for the kit number. I could not find any numbers on the motor that was labeled Kit number, so I gave her all of the number that I did find and she identified it from that. I tried to upload the PDF file with the information but was informed that it was too large.
