At times the check valve in the city water inlet will stick and then we will turn on the pump and lose all of our water. I though today I had the problem solved by buying a brass check valve and installing it first onto the inlet. But when I got it home it was the wrong size. If I would just remember to take something and rap it right where the hose fits on it will reseat it and all is well. But at times I forget and then no water. Has any of you had the same problem and what was your cure?

Those cheap check valves that the RV industry uses have a very high failure rate. What I do is use a screw in plug when I remove the hose so the inlet is plugged. I have done this on every RV since 1989.

I don't worry about if the check valve fails or not, my plug takes care of it.

Plugging it works.. So does placing a ball valve on the line just inside.
