Question; When you're staying put for a long time, and you're Hooked up to City water, should you turn on the Internal Water Pump from time to time?

No, No, No. Never run your water pump unless there is water in your fresh water tank. The water pressure provided by the RV park or wherever you are is sufficient to supply your rig. While connected to park water your pump is bypassed. However, if you're looking for increased flow you can fill up your fresh tank, turn on the pump, and also leave the park water turned on. Now you're using both sources at the same time and should see an improvement. Happy trails.

Unless the water pressure is equal from both sources running the pump will not help with water pressure. When hooked up to city water the check valve at your water hook up is pushed open by city water pressure, when you run your pump the check valve is pushed closed so water doesn't spray out of the fresh water hook up. Which ever system has the highest pressure would win. Running your pump against city water pressue may damage your pump, if the city water pressure is lower then what the pump puts out (unlikely) you could push water back through your fresh water hose and out the backflow preventer on the fresh water hook up. The pump may pump your fresh water tank dry and keep running. I would use either one system or the other.
