View Full Version : how to tell if my slide motor is bad ?

i have a 30 ft 2008 gulfstream conquest ,w/ large slide , it worked when i bought it of the orig.owner but slowly .i put a new battery and it still would stop on its way out or go real slow. in is been no prob . once i got it out . i called and as usualy gulfstream is no help . i asked what motor is on it for the slide as the sticker is on top and i cant see any writing , he said prob a lippert . dont want to buy a motor if it is not that .how hard is it to take to motor off?

Make sure your slide in not hanging up somewhere before you replace the motor, it could just be hanging up somewhere. Lippert has the slide manual on their site.

Timothy, that is great information. The Lippert manual has information that I have been looking for for years, including the manual procedure. We have a 2003 Gulfstream Conquest 30BHS, and the slide has been slow and sounds strained since the day we got it in May of 2003.

A few years ago, I did find a place where there was some sheet metal rubbing against the rail, cut it back and there has been some improvement. But still the thing sounds strained.
