View Full Version : Why So Few Dealers Carrying Gulf Stream?

As I mentioned in a previous related post, we are interested in a GS Enduramax, specifically the 3912. I am appalled at the lack of dealers near us that actually have an Enduramax in stock, which makes me wonder. Anyone have any idea why there seem to be few dealers with this model? Our closest GS dealer that actually has this Enduramax in stock is in Canada! We live in Pennsylvania. :(

Gulf Stream does not make motorized RV's any more and they haven't for a couple of years. Dealers can't carry what isn't manufactured anymore.

If you find a "new" motor home made by Gulf Stream, it has been sitting on the dealers lot for some time.

Hi Ron. Thanks for replying, but I'm not referring to the Enduramax motor home. I'm referring to the toy hauler fifth wheel: http://gulfstreamrvtrailers.com/enduramax/overview.php

You didn't say in what part of PA you live, but I'm guessing that if Canada is close, you're probably near Erie.

East Coast RV Specialists has locations in Roaring Spring and Bedford PA (about 16 miles and 45 miles south of Altoona, respectively). They carry Gulfstream towables. http://www.eastcoastrvs.com

We bought our motor home from Martinsburg RV near Roaring Spring and they are now out of business. I believe East Coast picked up the Gulfstream franchise in the area when Martinsburg closed.

Thanks for your reply, 03heritagerider. I'm an hour north of Harrisburg. East coast Rv is closer to me, but they do not have the Enduramax. In fact, when I use the Dealer Locator link on the GS website, none of the ones that are within 250 miles of me have the Enduramax. There's the one you mentioned, one in New York and one in Virginia. None have the Enduramax, though I do keep checking.

Sorry about that, I was in motorized mode. :D

Using my Zip Code here in Ohio, I did a dealer locator search under Enduramax on the GS website and gave me this dealer as handling them:

EAST COAST RV SPECIALISTS
Address:
7390 WOODBURY PIKE
ROARING SPRING, PA 16673

Phone:
814-729-7007 Online:
www.eastcoastrvs.com (http://www.eastcoastrvs.com)

You might want to contact Bonnie Cooper [email protected] and maybe she can help you locate a dealer that handles the Enduramax.

That's OK, Ron.

I did use the Dealer Locator on the GS website to find all the dealers within 250 miles of me. Not one of them, including the one you linked to, has an Enduramax toy hauler on their lot. Perhaps they've already sold them all for the year, or they aren't bringing in anything more until the weather warms up. As far as I can tell, the nearest one that has the 3912 Enduramax on the lot is in Canada. We don't want to purchase a new one. They are expensive, we don't want to take the hit on depreciation, and we're not ready to purchase until next fall, unless some screaming deal shows up somewhere! Plus, I'd prefer the "bugs" of a new one be worked out. We want to purchase a 2010 model. They are still making this particular floor plan (3912), and we'd like to see it in person.

Thank you for the contact. I may just do that. I did do a Google search for a 2013 3912, and that's when I found the one in Canada. That's just too far to go just to look at an RV. We may have to wait to see it in person at next year's big fall RV show in Hershey, PA.

Sorry for adding to an old thread, but the issue has not changed much since this was first posted.
I live in MD, and contacted the one dealer in MD, one in VA Bch, and two in PA. All had ridiculous prices at, or near the MSRP. MSRP for my 17RWD was $26k, and that was what I was being offered. A little haggling and got them down to $22k. When I told them the price I had seen the same model in Ohio, they said they couldn't even buy it at that price?????
So I made the trip to Ohio (9 hr drive each way) that was worth the drive. The same model for $13,900. They did not try up-selling me any options or unnecessary stuff, and a quick pickup. Very happy with OHRVS and would buy from them again.

Can anyone tell me if they have had problems with their 2008 Gulf Stream Endura Max Gladiator 6370HC?
