View Full Version : Slide roller

During our return from wintering in Florida, we stopped in South Carolina for a few days. When I extended the kitchen slide it was not sealing against the upper left interior wall. The slide seemed to be out of square and I could find no obstructions anywhere. I moved it in and out several times with the same result. When breaking camp, it closed completely.

The other day I went out to give the interior a spring cleaning and saw something on the floor under the right side cabinet. I reached under and pulled out a roller! At first glance it looked like the beater bar from a vacuum cleaner, but it had no brushes. Realizing it was probably the roller on which the slide runs, I assumed this was the reason the slide was out of square. If the roller on the bottom right was off, then it would make sense (to me) that the top left would be effected.

Now my question...Is this something I can fix myself? (I'm fairly handy with repairs, unless it's plumbing...if it has water...then I can make it leak. But I digress) :?

How do I approach this? Where do I look first? The underside of the slide is solid when extended. This slide runs on an electric motor. The living room slide has arms under it and is hydraulic. What kind of tools will I need? Am I going to need to lift the slide somehow? The roller itself does not look to be damaged; however, I don't know if there are end caps missing, or how it should be attached, or to what it should be attached.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Here's a good source for slide rollers should the mounting bracket be damaged

If it does then it was made by Liftco http://www.liftcoinc.com/index.html?pag ... es&level=3 (http://www.liftcoinc.com/index.html?page=wallkits&title=Wall%20Kit%20Styles&level=3)

They have a PDF file that you can open to show the rollers on their website.
