Has anyone has experience with standing or sitting on the roof of the BT Cruiser, specifically a 2005 5230 or similar coach? We were told by our dealership that we could put chairs up there as long as they has the "rounded" legs and not regular legs so they wouldn't damage the roof. We are NASCAR fans and attend a lot of racing events and would like to be able to sit up there. Has anyone put a deck on their roof or anything similar? Thanks!

the roof is sturdy enough to walk on. as for putting chairs up there, the amount of weight concentrated in one small point from any chair leg could easily puncture the roof.
there's not a whole lot of clear space either but if I was going to sit on the roof, I might be inclined to make a plywood contact patch that fits the leg pattern
of the chair and place that between chair and roof.

Thanks for your reply jpf - I was thinking about using the rounded leg type lawn chairs - the kind that don't have the "pokey" legs. Maybe they would work better? And, you're right about not having a lot of room up there. I noticed that too

maybe an exercise mat or something.. anything that makes the contact point larger. even the elbow leg chairs have a small contact point.

whatever you do, please be very careful. it really is a dangerous place up there.
