I have just purchased a solar kit and when the weather warms up, plan on installing said kit on a 05 BT cruiser. Has anyone done an install to a cruiser? I am wanting to know where the wire from the panel (roof) was routed to the batteries? Thanks in advance.....John

Bit the bullet the other day and installed the solar system. Once I started, the install went pretty easy, taking about three hours. Now ready for extended dry camping.

What is the rated capacity for your solar panels and what did they cost, if you don't mind sharing.

The panel is 250W. The cost was aprox. $600.00 US. This included the panel, mounting brackets, the wiring, charge controler(3 stage), a 1500W inverter plus I replaced all my lighting with led bulbs.

Hey, Jayme.
How'd you get the wires from roof to charger panel / Batteries? I was thinking about going down refrig. vent or drilling sink vent and going down that way. Any suggestion you may have will be appreciate.

Hi Rick. From the panel on the roof I ran the cables down the refrigerator vent. From there, I removed the heating vent in the bedroom, pulled the cables from the roof. From there I ran the cables along(inside) the ducting for heating water tank etc. My electrical panel is located under the bed, and so I ran the cables up to the panel and hooked them up. Once I got started, it didn't take very long. The system has been very good for us, as we do a lot of off grid camping. We have yet had to run the generator to charge the batteries. Mind you, all of our lights are led, and we use little power on the tv system, fantastic fans etc. Hope your install goes in smoothly....John. PS.....I ran from the roof to my controller prior to hooking up to panel
