The check engine message is light on my 1997 Sun Sport. I cannot locate the data port to dump the computer codes. I understand 1997 460 engines have an OBD I type port that is specific to Ford chassis when the VGW is over 14,000 lbs instead of OBD II which is used on most Fords for 1997.
I need to know where the port is located, and if it is OBD I or OBD II. I have a code reader that will work with either. If the port does not exist, I need to find out how to wire in the proper one. Any information on this subject will helpful in reaching my goal of reading the codes.

Update to post.
I found the location of the OBD port.
I am providing information that I found while researching the location of the OBD port.
The 1997 Sun Sport has a GVR of 15200 lbs which uses a 7L490AA 460 engine. This engine does not have a catalytic converter and uses an OBD1 data port. The OBD1 type data port is Ford specific and is the type provided on most Fords through 1994. The port on my Sun Sport is located in the engine area, under the engine cover, on the drivers side wall next to the starter relay.
Most vehicles produced in 1997 have the OBD2 type ECM but there are some exceptions mostly on larger trucks.
A large truck repair shop told me the OBD port on Class A RVs can be located most any place in the area of ECM and at times they have a hard time finding it.
