new tankless waterheater yet. Anyone try this yet.

on my last first trip I found it impossible to take a shower, ran out of hot water before I became completely wet. :oops: I see Suburban now has a tank less continues hot water heater replacement anyone have any experience with these??

I'm surprised I haven't had any response. I did try changing the anode on my Suburban 6gal water heater but didn't really see much improvement. I have they best bath and shower I can imagine but can't use the shower as I can't generate enough HOT WATER! working on selling my old Goldwing, arthritis is no joke planning to use the money on a replacement Water Heater. I seen the new tank less design but can't find any reviews.

Is your lack of hot water just when using the shore electricity, or does it not heat on propane as well? My rig has the 10 gallon heater and for a time it was weak to non-existent hot water on electricity and I simply started using the propane until I got it fixed. Needed a new switch, but I changed out the electric heating element and the anode at the same time just to be sure it will go another decade. I can't imagine that your heater would not be easily repaired.

By the way, aren't the tankless water heaters all gas (propane) only??? If you do go that route, get one with induced draft like this:

Thanks, but also please answer the question about using electric element heat -- is your heater both electric and gas? If so does it lack the ability to heat on either of the two? These answers help us understand your present heater's failure mode. If your heater has/needs an anode that indicated that it is electric also.

I live in my coach full time so am normally using electricity to heat my water (and I use quite a bit as I do all laundry in the coach since it has a stacking washer and separate dryer...) I just replaced my anode here because the electric heat mode does consume it -- it is a sacrificial electrode to prevent other parts of the heater from corrosion due to electrolysis.

If your usage habits allow for ONLY gas heat then a tankless might be an appropriate choice for you, but it would not be for me as propane is a hassle to fill and costs more than electric heating of water here in the Pacific Northwest. Your utility rates might be substantially different from mine of course.
