View Full Version : The Sedona Train Rides Again

Hi all-

After trying a test run of this configuration last year my hitch on my 5er was only used for bike racks.

This weekend I hooked it up and towed to an airport to drycamp overnight so I could catch the calm morning air at first light. This airport was 1 1/2 hours from home and I pulled there in 18-26 mph winds!!! This thing handled better than I thought it would. I didn't break any speed records but then again....I didn't try to! Made almost 9 mpg with those heavy head and side winds! On the way home I made closer to 13 mpg with calm-5 mph winds!

A great time was had and what a great use of the Sedona! Meals when I needed them.....a bed to rest in....and my ppc to fly in! The only thing missing was my wife!!! :D

Just be safe, we don't want to read about you!

Is the PPC like and Ultralight. I rode of of those once. I did get a little spooked about the the height we were at and was eternally greatful for the skills of the pilot.

Mike- The ppc (short for powered parachute) is more portable than an ultralight as it has a canopy for a wing so it folds up into a bag and it all tucks nicely in a 12' trailer.....although mine is 14'.

I'll see if I can attach a photo of one in flight for you......this is one of the guys that is on his first solo on Saturday!!

You certainly live life on the edge - pulling dual trailers, flying on inflated wings.

We'll have to hook up so you can take to the skies with me......see for yourself how nice it is up there.

Not much risk if you know what you're doing and don't fly in iffy weather. :D

Don't know if you're still on this board, but I was curious about how you hitched the tag trailer to your 5th wheel. My understanding is that it's fine as long as you don't exceed 65 feet in total length.

Do you have brakes on the tag trailer?

Hi there,

I do check in here now and then. Sorry for the delay in response to your question.

I had a custom hitch built to help distribute the weight over a large area so as to not damage the frame. The trailer is wired for brakes and if I turn my Prodigy controller up all the way it does a good job for us in helping to stop the train.
