Just wanted to let everyone know since I haven't posted anything for a while that I will probably be down for a while. I have to get open heart surgery, I'm in the hospital right now since last Tuesday.

The doctors are checking everything out and I will be getting open heart surgery. So anyone that has sent me PM and I have not answered, that is why.

Hey Ron,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. I had open heart surgery
a few years ago. It took a little while for me to get back 100%
but guess what, I made it and you can too. Just take your time but don't give up.
There are a lot more beautiful things out here to see, many more roads to travel. Let us know how you do.

Ron, best wishes for a speedy recovery. My MIL had a quad bypass 5 years ago and she says she feels like a teenager again.

Ron-

I will echo Tim's post except it was my father in law and he is back working with concrete again.

These proceedures today are a lot more advanced and succesful than they used to be. Speedy recovery and God Bless you!

Ron, sorry to hear you will be down for a short time but knowing you it won't be long. I hope to hear from you that all went well and you are itching to get back to camping again.

Well, I made it thru a Quad triple bypass and having my left carotid artery cleaned out. Now I just need to get all the battle scars healed and get started in the rehab program which I was told I had to wait until the end of September. Guess there is a lot of mending that has to happen.

Guess I do have to go back to have the right side carotid artery roto-rooted in the near furture, but we will handle that when the doctor says it's time.

It does look like the RV will be sitting until around November :!:

Darn it, unless I can finally get Jeannie to learn to drive it. But she has her hands busy being a nurse and keeping me in line at the present.

Thanks everyone for the Well Wishes, they were and are appreciated.

Congrats on the good report Ron. If it would help your to heal faster....I'd offer to keep your coach in use for you so you wouldn't have to worry about the seals drying out!!!! :D

Seriously though....heal fast. God Bless!!! Remember to follow the Dr's advice....they actually DO have your best interest in mind. My dad followed the Dr's advice for the first two or three weeks and then went back to his old habit of smoking!!!

Gee, I've had so many offers to keep the coach busy for the next few months, thanks :!:

The problem with my family is that with my three sisters and five brothers, only two of my sisters managed to escape open heart surgery, the one died with TB when only 4 years old. Our mother died when she was 54, yep, heart trouble when I was only 9 years old and the baby of our family.

So any bad habits according to the doctors really wouldn't have made any difference. Doc says I could have ate grass and done everything right, which I have since the two strokes in 1995 and I still would have gone thru the surgeries that I did last week.

Just remember, just because one does not smoke or have other bad habits, that family history of heart problems does much more than one usually considers, but should.

Ron-
Thanks for that insight. It might help me to accept my fate in the future, as heart issues run in this family too!

Hi Dave,

I am coming along, impatiently the wife says. Guess I am expecting to be able to do whatever I want right away, but that's not going to happen. It has been one month today since the surgery.

I am going back to the hospital and have the right carodic artery cleaned out on Sept. 13th. That will be a breeze compared to the open heart surgery. Sure will have a lot of scars messing up my beautiful body!

But all in all, I am in pretty good shape for the shape I am in. :D
