over cab insulation is the least of your problems. the drafts from the air gaps around the slides is very noticeable during cold weather (BT5291).

pushing 70mph out of a short wheel base (any) RV is something I wouldn't personally consider reasonable.
a steering damper can help if it jumps around too much but it's the nature of the beast...

I've seen the electric cabling bundle that provides power to the various fixtures in the slide get pinched by the slide mechanism so I would look into checking that.

it's usually not a kill switch, just that the tap into the fuel tank is higher than the engine fuel line.

I have the 5291B with the 'atrium' which sold it for me. I think the 5290 is more practical as it has a pantry that the 5291B doesn't have.
