This is exactly what I did to a 5/8" deep socket with drill adaptor of course.

I took a deep socket that fits over the threaded rod, and then used a grinder to make 2 slits opposite to each other.
Now it slides in and grips for drill use.

What is the output of 12v outlet near the TV? What size inverter can be pluged in for ac power while dry camping ie TV.
