Re: Class C Insullation

over cab insulation is the least of your problems. the drafts from the air gaps around the slides is very noticeable during cold weather (BT5291).

Re: "Plasticy" Fresh Water

I never drink the tap water, always buy bottled from the superstore.
I never have to worry about what it's going to taste like or how 'safe' it is.
for every other water use I use what comes out of...

Re: New to RV

bit late to help but... maybe:

city water is straight into plumbing and obviously pressurized.
the other one is usually to the fresh water tank and would require filling up if you're going to be...

Re: 2008 BT Cruiser 5291 hot water by-pass valve

not sure what exactly you're looking for (didn't know there was one). however, have a look in the bottom of the cupboard in the bedroom nearest the shower. is that what you're after?
I'd just flush...

Re: 2003 BT Crusier

pushing 70mph out of a short wheel base (any) RV is something I wouldn't personally consider reasonable.
a steering damper can help if it jumps around too much but it's the nature of the beast...

Re: Slide out fuses

slide trip switches for my c class are behind an unmarked panel in the same storage bin and the coach batteries.
just a rectangular metal plate with a couple of screws...
maybe look for something...

Re: Stairs not retracting

check the override switch, mine is in the step well next to switches for outside light, indoor lights and storage bin lights.
check all your batteries are fully charged.
does the light under the...

Re: Battery Power Problem

there's an 'ATS' (automatic transfer switch) which is under the bathroom sink in my
5291. It receives AC from both the generator and AC shore supply and decides which should
provide AC to the rest...

Re: Shore line not charging battery

there should be an ATS (automatic transfer switch) under the sink in the bathroom. This switches the AC source to generator after it has stabilized. If shore and generator are running, generator...

Re: Onan Generator problem

no real answers here I'm afraid. there's lots of discussion about onan issues on irv2 and rv.net.
if you're of a mind, use the starter on the genset and hold the carb open when you release the...

Re: Refrigerator not working

I've seen the electric cabling bundle that provides power to the various fixtures in the slide get pinched by the slide mechanism so I would look into checking that.

Re: Onan Generator problem

it's usually not a kill switch, just that the tap into the fuel tank is higher than the engine fuel line.
I don't have any good advice except to say that my old rv did this and needed a carb...

Re: Sturdiness of the roof

maybe an exercise mat or something.. anything that makes the contact point larger. even the elbow leg chairs have a small contact point.

whatever you do, please be very careful. it really is a...

Re: Sturdiness of the roof

the roof is sturdy enough to walk on. as for putting chairs up there, the amount of weight concentrated in one small point from any chair leg could easily puncture the roof.
there's not a whole lot...

Re: Battery Maintenance for RV Storage

what's the likelihood of freezing temperatures in storage?
how long are you storing?

I'd be inclined to disconnect AGMs at negative terminal and let them sit if it's under 6 months.
if you...

Re: 2005 BT CRUISER 5290 3O'

I have the 5291B with the 'atrium' which sold it for me. I think the 5290 is more practical as it has a pantry that the 5291B doesn't have.
Internally the finish on mine looks good but doesn't stand...

*I've contemplated rainkap.com 's product to reduce rain running down the sides.
you say the outer seal was replaced and made it worse and the new seal is too short.
after you get it back...
is...

Re: OWNERS PACKET FOR 2005 BT CRUISER 5230

depends on the speakers. if you have a set of five small surround sound speakers in the roof then the wires for those terminate above the cab probably in the right hand cupboard.
if you have two...

if it dwindled away then it was your 12v coach batteries going flat.
let me backtrack and explain your systems a bit. for simplicity's sake you have 3 power sources in an RV:

coach batteries...

Re: INSTALLING A NEW ROOF

are you sure it's foam?
it should be lap sealant that looks like off white/grey putty/chewing gum and should've been applied generously around every fitting on the roof. if the lap sealant has ...
