I'm not sure if your compartment door design is the same as on my MH...

I checked each latch and lock to make sure it was preloading the door against the seal. If there was any looseness or rattle, I bent the inside tab on the latch/lock until it was a tight fit. That seemed to help with water coming in around the door seals.
