I would cut that sucka off and glue a new hose connect fitting on it. Might have to bend over further to hook up the hose. That dangling outlet looks like a nightmare ready to happen.
The manufacturers must have left their intelligence at home the day they engineered that one.
On one of our older coaches the water tank had a spigot that stuck straight out the side so you could get some water while you were outside. One day while maneuvering down a tight camping road a tree took it right off. Our precious water supply running out onto the ground. Had to quickly find the right size piece of wood and plug the hole. It's definitely not going to be pretty if you rip that whole elephants trunk off your camper.
