On our coach problem is: the compartment doors physically slide forward or back causing the latch to go out of alignment. When the door in the open position, it is easy to slide it back to the right spot. You simply have to pay attention to the door's position.

I now use a small dab of red paint to mark the correct position where the hinge meets side wall. I can now easily see a badly aligned door before it becomes a problem.
