See my response to you about the broken latch in your other posting. My failure was with the hinge assembly. Everyone should examine their compartment doors.
GS recently changed manufacturer of the doors, and improved the design. The door skin now wraps around the frame & is an integral part of the hinge. In the design used on my coach, all of the strength is supposed to come from 2 small aluminum welds, which were made by amateurs (blow-thru, blobs, carbon deposits).
Everyone should also check the latch-loop attachment to the coach frame. The self-thread bolts just barely hold by a single thread.
