My SN was doing the same thing. It turned out the set screws on the gear that drives the slide out on one side were loose. It looked like the topper was binding and holding the back of the slide in but was actually the front of the slide wasn't getting powered out. The rear was dragging it out cock eyed so the topper would bind on the rear at the top of the slide.
