If I were you I would spell it out plain and simple to the Extended warranty company just why you are thinking of buying it ( to cover engine recall issues) and make sure they will cover it if Cummins won't. I would bet my life that if your engine goes down due to your wrist pin failed that Cummins would cover the replacement or repair regardless of your warranty time frame.
