Although I am not too concerned with adding weight to my rig (6331) a 22.5 inch tire without rim weighs about 120 lbs. Even if I could get it into a compartment, which I can't, I wonder if I would. Hauling that weight around would cost some fuel. I can't say how much, but I wonder how long it would take to break even with the extra fuel costs vs the extra charge for a tire from a mobile tire service. I would like to make the trip up the Alaska Highway in a couple of years, and although I would put on new tires at that time, not having a spare would bother me, but not much we can do about it that I know of.
