Default Jacks as tool

It can be used as a lift with the knowledge that a hydraulic line or valve could fail at any time and cause the unit to fall. That is why any mechanic will jack up a vehicle and support it on jack stands of some type. And I do mean support it. Take it up , place your supports under it and then lower it on to the supports until the full weight is on the supports. I even go so far as to shake the vehicle to make sure it is steady before I allow any one to crawl under it. I do not lower the jack and remove it until I am sure the vehicle is stable. This way if a support lets go while I am shaking it it will be caught by the jack(s) before hitting the groung and damaging any thing.
