Default Mystery switch

We have a 2008 Independence which we purchased used. Under the systems monitor panel, there is a switch sort of like a household light switch which has no label. It has a red light connected to it. Upon looking at the build sheet I see where the coach has heated holding tanks. Maybe this is the switch for them??
Or something else? What component do you have if you have this switch
Thanks for any input.

That switch is for the electric heating element in the water heater.

There is also a "water heater" switch on the panel.

The water heater switch in the panel with the little LED pilot lamp is what controls the DSI (direct spark ignition...) for the propane mode of the water heater...

I have two switches with a red light on them when the switch is on. One as Chuck pointed out is to turn on the electricity for the water heater. Choice up to you whether you want propane heated or electric. The other switch on my coach is on the bed box and that is for the block heater which I use when the weather is real cold.
Hope that helps!

In my 2008 Independence, my switch to keep the bays warm is by the bathroom sink, beside the light switch.

I thought all Gulf Stream Coaches were ducted to the bays heating furnished from the furnace. How are the bays on the Independence heated? Are they heated with electric heating?

My understanding is that it is electric, as I press the button. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

not sure if you have diesel or not....at the foot or our bed, was a box with "light switch"...it is the cummins diesel engine block heater. In the elec compartment where your charging system is, we had a 110 volt outlet, with a plug, plugged into it...that was the engine block heater, and that switch operated that....................on our coach..but we are older....2002 Gulfstream Scenic Cruiser.........
