Default 12 volt light switch

Just bought a 1993 28 ‘ conquest class c. Coach lights only work when plugged in. Is there a switch to convert to 12 volt? I don’t have any manuals for this motor home.

Sounds like your house battery bank (the batteries that run your 12volt lights and water pump) may be dead, and you're only getting 12 volt power through your converter when you're on shore power.

Find your house battery(ies), put a meter on them or hook up a battery charger and see what happens.

Your converter should be charging your house batteries as well as changing the 110 volt AC current from shore power into 12 volt DC power.

Your converter may be shot, but chances are good the problem is your house batteries; they are easy to abuse and can be ruined if over-discharged or over charged.

The 12v items run off the battery, and battery maybe bad or have a switch next to it that is turned OFF? If battery SWITCH is turned ON, check terminal connections/ corrosion and WATER LEVEL in battery cells; (WATER should cover all cell plates and come above the bottom plastic round ring down in the cell) (WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. BAD BATTERIES CAN EXPLODE FROM ANY SPARK); IF you press the TEST button on Monitor panel while plugged in, and it lights all lights for the battery, that generally says the CHARGER IS WORKING; (when UNPLUGGED for 30-60-minutes, a good battery (may) light one bulb less. e.g. 4-lights vs 5-lights)
