Default Mounting a TV in my Amerilite

We bought a 19" LCD TV and swing arm mount for our 21MB and would like to mount it on the end of cabinet over the sink near the bed. I was wondering if this cabinet is strong enough to support the weight or will it need bracing? Also, any advice on how to run the antenna cable to it? Any recommendations are much appreciated.

I did the same thing and it worked out great. It is the best TV location. I put a small piece of plywood inside the cabinet side wall and screwed the swing arm through the cabinet into the plywood, nice & secure. I also ran the coax inside the cabinet, over the microwave and out the other end of the cabinetry right near the antenna hookup.

Thanks, I mounted it like you suggested and it feels nice and strong. I was a little nervous about just screwing it up to the cabinet wall. I sure didn't want to walk in and find my tv along with a chunk of cabinet laying in the floor! It works a lot better there than it did on the shelf over the refrigerator too. It was difficult to see from the bed and we had to run the volume wide open to hear it too. That also frees up some much needed storage space for other items as well. Thanks again for the suggestion and happy camping!

I'm glad it worked out for you. We are pleased with our 19" LCD mounted there close to the bed, it angles away nicely in that corner. I keep a small allen wrench tucked away on the window valance and snug up the swing arm every once in a while. Now we can use the shelf over the fridge for a toaster over and other stuff. I'll try to remember to take some photo's and post them next time I have the camera handy.

Nice! I still haven't drilled the hole to run the cable on mine. I'm trying to figues out if the cable runs through the ceiling over the microwave or not. If it does then I may cut an access hole and connect the cable so that it is hidden on that side. I'm in no hurry to do that anyway. We only watch the TV if the weather is bad and then it's usually DVDs. So far we haven't stayed at a park that offers cable either.

The coax wire from the antenna must go in the ceiling right by the new TV location, but I was not about to open it up to look for it. I put a small coax jack/wall plate on end cabinet to clean up the look.

Well, I don't know how that cable gets from the antenna to the connector over the refrigerator, but it doesn't go directly over the microwave. i pulled the cover off and shook the wire and it is routed from the other side of the camper. I bit the bullet and drilled holes through the cabinet ends. Wish I could have hidden the cable but that's how it goes. The big improvement in the location of the TV is worth it. Now we can see and hear it from the bed or the dinette without turning the volume wide open and squinting!

I drilled holes to run cables, does not look bad at all. I went so far as to run the power back over so there is not any cables showing by the TV. Other wize I would have had a cord handing down the wall by the sink.
