Default OMG what did I do? all new :)

Hello all. I swore I would never own a travel trailer after LIVING in one for 2 years when I was a kid & dad was building our house.
But tonight I bought a 30' Gulf Stream Conquest with a short list of issues for a steal of a price. She needs a bath!

The MAIN thing I need to address is electrical. The last owner did not know how to light the heater so he plugged in electric space heaters and caused a problem in the 12v/120v inverter charger. Yeah, really!
Here is a pic of the board. There is a dark spot dead center near the two blue resistors in this picture

The entire box looks like this:

Please bear with me. I will have at least 27 more questions

She needs a bath for sure and you will need a weight distribution hitch too...

The seller told me the power converter was bad... but it works. Odd! But good.
Bath yes... maybe some paint from my airless sprayer too!
Weight distribution hitch? I always pulled an enclosed race car trailer without one. But I am open to the idea. The race car trailer pushed me around a lot with the weight bars on, pulled much better without.

Does anyone else reading this pull a similar travel trailer without weight bars?

How much weight did you have on the tongue of your race car trailer and did you take the time to tuned the wdh ?

The tongue weight of the TT will be close to 800 - 1,000 lbs when loaded.

Claude, I don't know on the racecar trailer. But a 4x4 Dodge and 30' TT is a common combo, and I am sure I should have a weight distribution setup, right?

If your truck is a half ton (1500), yes, you will need a wdh.

Now, the wdh MUST be very well tuned to make sure it will work properley. With a 30' TT, I would also go with a Reese Dual-Cam system or an Equal-I-Zer hitch system. A simple anti-sway friction bar is not enough. I had the Reese Dual-Cam for 10 years with my previous 25' TT towed with my 2003 Pathfinder (107'' wheel base) and it was very stable.
