fresh water pick up

We just bought a used Ultra Supreme and went dry camping to see what worked and what didn't. We have a 30 day warranty. Most of the stuff was an easy fix for the dealer we bought it from, however, Our fresh water pump/pickup stops when the tank is only 1/2 empty.
Has anyone else had this problem with their motorhome? The RV dealership is working on it but is not sure whats wrong. Looking for suggestions..........

We found out it is a 2 tank system and the pick up only reaches the top tank so they are changing the pickup to go to the bottom tank so we will be able to use all the water ! This is a flaw in the design of the water system. Yeah we can dry camp again for more then a day!
