Default Gulfstream Cavalier 2005 FEMA trailer hot water heater

Our hot water heater will light and heat water but when the water cools the heating element does not come back on. Also the water does not get very hot. Is there a thermostat I can adjust? What must I do to get the water to stay hot?

Our old hybrid TT had a manually lit water heater that had an adjustment near the control knob. Our current TT has a DSI water heater and I don't think there is any temp adjustment. If the water is only getting warm, it sounds like your water heater might still be bypassed from winterization.

I believe what is wrong with your water heater is that you have a bad thermocup. They need to be replaced every so often. What is happening is that once your heater reaches certain temperature it is turning off and will not reignite because of the bad thermocup causing the water to cool down. They are very inexpensive and can be bought most of the time at a local Home Depot or ACE hardware stores.
Good luck!
