Default I need tips on mouse proofing a onan 4k generator

I am working on my generator that has mouse nests in it. Thank you for your suggestions.

Default Worked for Us in coach

We have had good luck with using pieces of Irish Spring soap placed in the areas where slide rooms seam at floor. Under bathroom cabinet (they used to build nest out of TP) BUT WE HAVE NOT put it around our generator. I guess I better look there for mice.

Did they do a lot of damage?

Thank you for the Irish Spring soap tip. I put them into my storage bins. As for my genterator, mice chewed up the brush block and used the springs in their nest. It cost me $120. in parts, but is now back in service. The only opening on my onan generator is the front cover. I covered the vents in the cover with 1/2 inch hardware cloth. That should keep the rodents out.

I’ve been told a mouse can get through a 1/4 in. opening. Suggest you use something finer—maybe even regular screening. However, would have to be careful to not reduce airflow too much and cause generator to overheat.
