Cool Repair ideas, sun damage top of awning.

'Anybody have ideas to fix or replace that few inches of awning that ties the awning flexible part to the side of the roof, where the exposure to sunlight has dried it part way through? Contact adhesive and canvas... Gorilla tape... remove and move the aluminum strap covering strips, fastening them to the roofline...?
Thank you. Don, '04 Friendship

I have known of some that remove awning, fold back to good material and resew, cutting off damaged; lose about 6-inches; upholstery shop can resew if you cannot.
