Default slide out sticking

I have an Amerilite 5er with slide and when I bring it in the bottom comes in and I have to pull the top in part of the way and then it works on its own and when it goes out the top seems to stick quite a bit as it is slanting (the top in and bottom goes out ) is this normal or is there something wrong with it it does go out fully eventually on its own

Lizz, I think your slide needs to be adjusted, It should go in and out smoothly on its own. On my slide the bottom comes out a little before the top and the top come in first when retracting. One thing to check is the jam nuts on the slide adjusters, I had to tighten the jam nuts because the factory or the dealer negelected to do it. If the jam nuts are not tight the slide will come out of adjustment.

Good luck!

On my coach they are on the bottom of the slide where the slide arms attach to the slide. You should be able to see the adjusters there.

Thanks for that I will have a look tomorrow but we have just been away for a few days and when packing up to come home the motor is not working on the slide so I will have to get that fixed first it is a pain to hand crank it in

Might just be a fuse or circuit breaker, if your slide was sticking could have caused one of these to blow. The fuse should be located in the fuse box with your other breakers and fuses, a seperate fuse or circuit breaker may also be in the line that feeds the motor and could be located just about anywhere in the line, usually near the motor itself.

Thank you Tim yes it was a fuse by the battery that had gone I am still not sure re the adjusting screws I will try and explain what is there I have a one heavy channel with a cranking bit in the middle and lots of nuts and bolts but I will have another look now I have the motor running
Talking to my dealer they checked on one they have and they could not tell me where to look for fuse as it seems that everyone is different so that is one reason they do not issue wire diagrams so it is very hit and miss and it makes it worse UK wiring is different in colour so we never know what we are looking for

It sounds like your slide may be different then mine. There still should be some adjusting screws under the slide where the room attaches to the mechanism, you may want to ask your dealer if he knows. I would take some pictures of mine but I don't want to extend the slide right now, it'
s very cold and snowy here in Wisconsin!
How is the weather this time of year in the UK?

Hey Lizz-

What was the resolve for you on this issue? did you fix it yourself or take it in to a dealer?

lockdoc the slide seems to work ok on its own now I think it was a little extra sealant on the top causing it to stick
thanks lizz
