Default stairwell cover?

Hello all,
New to Gulfstream. Just purchased a 2002 Sun Voyager with 15K miles. There are many routine maintenance issues I'm dealing with.
One thing I would like is a cover for the stairwell, so that when the MH is moving, the space over the steps is safe.
Anyone know who might make these? Gulfstream?
Should I just make my own?
Thanks.

I have an 06 Independence (8295) and just made my own cover....Piece of plywood and covered it with carpet and it has worked well.......I tired 2 yrs ago to see if GS sells them still but had no luck ever getting a call back or e-mail.....

What are the issues you are having with the Sun Voyager???

Thanks for the info re. the stair cover. I have searched all over the internet, and many talk about having a cover that automatically slides over the stairwell, etc etc, but no SunVoyager aftermarket items. I'll likewise make my own. Did you hinge yours?

Issues with the MH? It's a 2002, with 15K miles, and with the maintenance issues due to not being driven much, I suspect. Deterioration of tires, electrical problems, exhaust leaks/holes, and generator that won't start. Also, strangely, the leather seat area of the couch is dramatically cracked and ripped, which the previous owners ascribed to poor quality. The fridge was replaced with a 110V AC unit due to problems with the original 3-way fridge, so it only works on shore power or generator; the TV's evidently blew out with a pop; many lights inside don't work; the backup camera goes in and out (connection I think); had to replace some clearance markers because wires cracked where they entered the vehicle.

The generator is getting gas, so I'm suspecting something with the oil pressure cut off switch, as it starts up but immediately dies within 2 seconds. Any easy test for this?

My biggest concerns are the electrical gremlins, and I'm fearful that there may be an intermittent short anywhere that causes appliances and TVs to blow.

I have the electric slide on the Scenic Cruiser Gulf Stream, but before this I had a Coachmen gasoline and it had a removeable cover. It seemed to me that all it was a one inch plywood covered with a carpet material and it would fit like a cover right on the stairwell.

Some of these coaches with real low miles on the odometer are scary because a coach that just sits for years can acquire a lot of problems. Fuel lines get clogged up or fuel injectors need replacing. Tires need to be changed out every five years even if the coach only has a few miles on it, the tires need to roll to create a chemical reaction within the rubber to keep it from dry rot. Electrical components will corrode, plus gaskets on the engine dry up and start to leak. Rear main seals usually will leak on gasoline engines when they sit for long periods at a time. That is why sometimes it is best to buy a coach that has been used and rolling rather then one that has no miles at all.
Good luck with your venture and hope you are slightly mechanically inclined.
