Default Supernova 6400 Battery Charger

I just purchased a 2010 6400 Supernova and would like to connect with some other 6400 owners that would be willing to answer questions. One question I currently have is were did Gulfstream place the battery charger in the 6400? Thanks in advance for anybody willing to help.

I have a 2008 6372. The house battery charger is located behind a panel under the sink in the kitchen.

Thank you Mike for your reply. I was working on the 6400 this morning and found the charger under the rear bathroom wardrobe.

Can you tell me if your IH Chassis idles high when first stated? The engine in mine will start at a normal idle and then slowly increase up to a high idle. After a period of time it will go back down to a low idle again. It only does this on the first cold start.

Thanks for the help.

Tim, glad you found the charger! Yes, when my coach is cold the idle likes to creap up until the motor warms up. Kind of like an automatic choke on a gasoline motor.
I purchased my coach a year and a half ago and so far so good with the exception of the 40 amp fuse burning up on top of the main batteries. Keep an eye on that but you may already know about it.
I added the ACS air ride along with the road king shocks and it made a huge difference on how the coach handled the bumps in the road.It also made my wife happier on the long trips!

Mike - I read about the 40amp fuse and it looks like mine has been replaced in the past. I also have the ACE air suspension on my 6400. Did you do the ACE and Road King Shocks at the same time?

LTC - What year is your 6400? I have a question about the big wall slide but 2008 and 2009 use a different slide mechanism than a 2010.

Slimtim, I have a 2008. I just ordered the road king shocks, should be here next week, it had the Ace air suspension on it when I got it, had an issue with the HPOP, high pressure oil pump, and ICP (injector control pressure), ended up replacing the engine (long story in another post), and i put acoustic sound mat in the cab. I haven't had an issue with the slide but it uses the same motor as the leveling jacks.

LTC - sorry to hear you had engine issues. I am a firm believer the HPOP, Injector, Turbo, and EGR issues can all be traced back to the oil cooler on the VT365. I will check out your post.

Welcome. I have had my 2008 for almost 3 years now and we really enjoy it. I did all the mentioned upgrades on the suspension and cab noise. I have had few problems with the exception of mice getting in during the winter. Luckily they have caused no damage. I do have battery tenders installed on my RV so when I have it parked at the house, I have them plugged in. I have not had any problems with fuses. I do have water getting into my front storage bay on the right front. Have not traced it down yet but will this summer.

Hope you have a great RV Season.

Roy.
