Default Road Ready

Hello All. We are fairly new to the travel trailer world. I have a question about preparing our 2017 295SBW for the road this spring. We have one years worth of camping with it so far and bought it brand new. What suggestions would anyone have for us?

Hello, and welcome! First for me would be repacking the wheel bearings, followed by making sure the star wheels on the brakes are adjusted properly, followed by a fine-tooth comb inspection of the tires, as these are all safety related, and make for a really bad day if they fail on the road.

Next, check and inspect the roof and retouch the sealant anywhere that is suspect. Same with windows and moldings, etc. on the sides.

Open and look in all of the access panels and look for rodent or insect traces or nests, etc. Clean and inspect.

De-winterize fully. Clean, dust, vacuum. Run and exercise all of the systems to make sure there are no problems before you get where you are going.

Hopefully, that's what you are looking for. Continue asking questions if you have them. Happy travels!

Good advise Larry! I found always make a point to re-check snug-ness on those drain and plumbing fittings under the sinks also to make sure the AC units (roof mount) gaskets are snug since they can settle and compress over time.

Thanks for the great advice. We are getting excited for the warm weather.

This info will help us be better prepared for rolling the camper out and not letting the weekend get ruined by those issues.
