Default Level Refrigerator

Since there is no board for "Appliances" I've decided to post here.

I have always been told that the fridge needs to be level to operate properly and to avoid damage to the cooling system.

Prior to leaving on our winter migrations, I have to move the motor home to a small parking lot to be able to hook it to the trailer. This move is done after it is loaded, including the fridge, about 24 hours prior to us hitting the road.

The parking lot is on a grade that is a bit more than I could level with my jacks.

The question is; does leaving the fridge on when it is out of balance for 24 hours cause damage?

Default Re: Level Refrigerator

In our driveway where I have to park the MH when we are packing for any trip, it is not level. It actually has a slope to it. I never level the MH and have kept the refrigerator on
for days at a time. We have never had a problem with doing that.

I believe the refrigerators made from about 2000 up are not as problematic to being not quite level as the older RV refrigerators. Although it is probably best if one can keep them
level while operating, we have never had a problem not doing so in the driveway for 24 hours or more.
