Following a thunderstorm the lights and AC stopped working. Our Gulfstream Cavalier stays on shore power (120v) and we use it as a guest cottage for now. After checking everything I could think of with a meter I realized that although connected to 120v the lights were 12v DC and likely powered by the converter. After checking it with the meter it appeared not to have any 12v output and was warm to touch and the cooling fan was not working.
I just ordered a new WF-8955MBA (55amp) replacement Power Converter for ($150 from
www.americanrvcompany.com) and hope this will remedy. The only thing that puzzles me is the AC not working since it is 120v powered. I'm hopping the thermostat is 12v powered and why it is not working. Any thoughts?
