Default Battery on/off switch

I have a class A sunvoyager 2004
To the left wall when walking up the entry steps is an on/off switch.
What is the main purpose of this switch and when is it to be used.

Thanks,
Bob Schiano

Default Re: Battery on/off switch

Bob;
I have a 2005 and I was told the switch shouuld be turned off if you are not using the coach for an extended period. The coach battery will run down eventially due to various connections inside that are running when switched on. There is two switches on the left stair wall as you come in, one is the coach battery and the other is the main engine battery. I have never switched off the engine battery. I was also advised not to allow the coach to be plugged in for extended periods when not in use as the charger does not have a auto turn off when the battery is fully charged and will continue delivering a charge which will reduce the water level in the battery over time. I now only plug in my coach a few days before going out to run the refrigerator and AC if it is hot outside as it does take time to reduce the temperature levels inside the coach. I also found that opening all the drawers and closets allows the hot air build up to escape which reduced the overall heat level inside. It is allot chaeper to not run the generator while travelling down the road and doing the things I suggested almost eliminates the need so the engine AC comming from the dash produces enough air for us as we travel.
