Default Chassis AC problem

Greetings all,
1999 Sun Voyager Bus 8362 SVB.
Looks like Ford manual basic AC controls in dash. Problem is, when putting control on MAX AC, outiside flaps close, inside flaps do not open, the blend door changes from dash to heat, so air is coming out of the floor vent in front. Checked for unhooked vacuum line and found 1, so hooked it up to vacuum control and doesn't make any difference. Anyone have a AC vacuum diagram? Everything else seems to work and the one vacuum diagram I found on line does not match up. Used to be a mechanic, but this has me puzzled.
Thanks,
Marty

Get a can of carb cleaner. With engine idling spray a little around all vacuum lines and listen for a change in engine rpm. If nothing under the hood does it it may be a cracked vacuum control block in dash unit.

edit: You don't need to spray a lot of stuff. Try to keep it to small burst in different areas.

Thanks, Sudsy. Great idea. I will try that tonight.

Sounds like the wrong vacuum line from the controller is hooked to the blend door.

That is what I thought, Restorium. Hard to find the correct color coded vacuum diagram, though. After extensive "Googling", I did find out that the dash controls are from Ford 95-97 models with manual AC.

Did not find any vacuum leaks. Continuing on.

Spent some time on this and found that most likely it's this common problem with these Fords.

Thanks for the help, Restorium. Not exactly my problem but gave me some ideas. Likely to be a lengthy process. Retired, so gives me something else to occupy my time.

It might be the same problem. They mentioned that when it happened the AC came out the floor vent. All you would have to do is to provide a new source of vacuum and see if the vents work right. The default for low vacuum is floor and defrost vents open.

Found it! After carefully scraping the "foam" GS sprays all over the front, buried in that was the clear line and it had a break. Going to the autoparts store to get it repaired and get some extra hose because I will probably need it. Thanks for all the ideas and help guys! Hopefully this will fix it.
