Default electrical issues

I bought a 2005 Sun Voyger Trio from the owner of a dealership, but not through the dealership. IT had 1700 miles on it! never used for camping. It was a show vehicle. I've had no end of electrical problems. Something is draining the batteries. I have manual cut off switches on all 3 batteries. The latest problem is thet the rear 12 volt system will not charge on shore power. They will charge on engine power. Where is the battery charger? I disconected the positive cable from the solinoid and i used a tester and confirmed that there is power being sent to the batteries while plugged to shore power, but i don't have the equiptment to test the amperage. Dosent a charger hum? I don't hear anything. Please help!!!

There is a converter that drops 110v shore power to 14.4v charging power to charge your coach batteries.
The converter is probably under your bed. There is a fuse on the converter that may be blown. You can check the charge status of the converter by connecting to shore power, then checking the coach batteries with a battery tester (volt meter). If you see 13.5v or more, then the converter is working.
Try this first.

Default what's next?

I checked the voltage at the batteries. When i grounded to the chasis, it read 13.7V. If I put the negative probe directly on the battery, I got 12.0. Just for the hell of it, I checked the charger under the bed and it was working fine. The output at that point was 14.0. The batteries are less than 6 months old, Mega-Tron Marine-RV Deep Cycle. All water levels were at the top. Any ideas?

Disconnect the batteries and take them to a store that can put a load on them. You will find out if a battery requires replacement.
1. I suspect a battery is partially bad, able to accept a charge but will not hold it under load. Sometimes you need to add acid to the battery, most times you need to replace it.
2. Taking the batteries out will tell you if your cable connections are ok. Sometimes there is corrosion under the connection that you do not see, but interferes with the batteries function.
3. Last, and not uncommon, you have something in the coach that is drawing more than the battery charger can replace. You mentioned a disconnect switch, which is good. If your batteries are ok, your converter seems ok, then the next step is mega, finding the fault in the coach.

I am not sure on a Sun Voyager where the charger is, but on my Scenic Cruiser it is in the invertor/charger compartment. Mine will charge the house batteries, but not the chassis batteries. Never had any problems with the chassis batteries going bad though.
