Default Broken step

I have a 2018 gulfstream friendship. The bottom step broke on one side it looks a a rivet? I can't believe they would use something so flimsy and really just unsafe. Any advice on how to fix and hopefully replace with something more durable. Im still under warranty but since I usually get a runaround with customer service I would rather just fix it myself if possible. Thanks in advance!!

If I saw a photo it would be better. I would get a bolt and nut and drill the rivet hole to the size of the bolt diameter. It would be stronger then rivet material.

I will upload a picture asap. I was thinking some kind of nut and bolt setup but I just wanted to make sure the steps can still articulate to fold up. Thanks for the reply!

If there needs to be clearance around the bolt head, bolt heads are bigger than a rivet head, you can use a button head bolt for a low profile bolt head choice. On steps, I would use some locktight blue on the bolt threads.
