Default New floor

Here's a couple of pic's of the new laminated flooring that I installed in my RV. Removed the 'J' coach and will be installing new 32" TV in the area. As seen in the pic's duct for the furnace was shorten a few feet and had to build a box around the fuel filler tube.

No problem what so ever. After removing the 'J' coach and started tearing up the carpeting, found the carpeting was laid like was in a house. That is they use carpet tacks along the walls. None of it was under and cabinets or other items like a model home. The only problem I encountered was the hard wood floor that was installed by the factory. It went under the kitchen cabinets and I could not get it up, but found I could push it further under the cabinet to get it out of the way. Other wise it was a rewarding job as the pictures show.

Default New Floor

I have a 2006 GulfStream Independence. My youngest son has bad allergies and asthma...we want to take out the carpet and replace it with laminate flooring. Will this be affected in the area with the slide out? I am not sure how the slide will move over the wood floor instead of carpet.
I see you did this...any thoughts and/or ideas?
Thanks
Todd

You wont have any problems at all with the slide out. If you look at the slide out u will see that it is up off the carpet and have plenty of clearance. To double check run the slide out out, and then put a piece of laminated flooring on top of the carpet and run your slide out in. If should go over the laminated without any trouble. If it pushes the laminated stop the slide out and then push the laminated under the slide out and see how little resistance there is. DON'T forget you still have the carpeting and padding on the floor. YOU will see the difference as soon as you remove the carpeting and laying the flooring you will have a good 1/2 inch plus of clearance. Go for it and enjoy your better breathing RV.
