Default hot water looks and smells funny

i have 06 unused fema camper and for some reason the hot water is foamy and smells funny. i have drained the tank completely and it still does it. the cold water is fine. i have it hooked up to a spicket so its getting fresh water. what could be the problem??? thanks benji

Recently I read about this problem, it is common and I think the article came up in a Goggle search. Try Googling hot water tank odors and see what you get. I do know that the article said to clean the tank with bleach I think, and then flush. Do the search, I am sure you will find what you are looking for.

Sounds like funk mineral deposits collecting in the hot water tank. Strange on such a young unit IMO. My mom's safari was so bad the entire coach smelled like sulfur and for months and months we thought it was somehow related to the holding tanks venting into the unit. When I finally traced it to the hot water tank, I drained it and you would not believe the nasty, jelly-like crap that came out.

I filled it up with bleach water and let sit for a day and then flushed it out continuously with a garden hose.
