Default Outside plate that the drain hose 2005 Gulfstream

On the bottom edge of my Gulf stream is a access plate that is normally rivited to the motorhome and has a srew plate to take out when useing the drain system to ground. Last weekend when I ran my hose through it the entire plate fell off. It looks like the previous owner glued it on around the circumference and shoved glue into the rivet holes as well. I'm thinking if I drill out the rivets and replace them with correct sized stainless bolts, oversized washers and lock nuts on the inside the plate will never come off again. With a small touch of black paint the bolt heads and washer would not easily be seen either. This is my suggested method to fix it. Does anyone have a better suggestion?

I think your idea will solve your problem, and I would probably do the same thing your are doing.
Good luck

Same thing happened to mine. I drilled out all of the rivets, ran some silicone around the opening, and reattached the fitting with stainless steel screws. Not a problem since.
