Default Hot Water tank question

Hey everyone,

Been meaning to ask this question for some time,

When we purchased our 2011 Trailmaster 265bhs last fall, the dealer said the hotwater tank was gas only, and electric was a option. It was not equiped on my tt.

However I noticed it had all the stuff for electric, Wiring, breaker/switch (had a pin in the switch) on the hwt. If it is a option and I have all this "pre" electric stuff already, what is needed to add electric to my HWT? just the element? I suspect there is more to it, as if I just need to add a element why wouldn't GS just do that to all the HWT's?

Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Hot Water tank question

It sounds like your dealer is wrong, the switch with pin turns on the electric heating. Look in your electric box there should be a circuit breaker that is labeled WH or it may say water heater. Make sure the tank is full of water before you turn it on.
